Nueva Orleans es la ciudad más poblada de Luisiana y fue una de las ciudades favoritas de Walt Disney en Estados Unidos, ya que apareció en varias producciones de Disney. Aparece en películas como The Princess and the Frog y El Tesoro de Matecumbe. Sirvió de inspiración para la New Orleans Square en Disneyland y para varias de las novelas de Pirates of the Caribbean: Jack Sparrow.
