Arturo Pendragón (a menudo llamado Grillo), es el protagonista de la película The Sword in the Stone.
Historia
A Arturo le apodan con el nombre de "Grillo" porque es muy pequeño. Trabaja en la cocina en el castillo de Sir Héctor, su tutor. Grillo es un pequeño muchacho delgaducho y enclenque que está aprendiendo para convertirse en escudero. Cuando conoce al mago Merlín, él le dice que puede llegar a ser alguien importante, así que se convierte en su tutor y le enseña las fantásticas cosas de la vida.
Mientras está con Merlín, Grillo se mete en varios problemas: cuando Merlín le convierte en pez para enseñarle los misterios del mar, casi le come un enorme pez monstruoso; cuando Merlín le convierte en ardilla para demostrarle como viven esas criaturas, una ardilla se enamora de él y no le deja en paz, y cuando se cae de un árbol casi le come un lobo; cuando Merlín le convierte en gorrión para que sepa como es volar, casi le atrapa un halcón, e intentando huir de él, cae por la chimenea a la casa de la bruja Madam Mim, que quiere destruirle. Por suerte, Merlín y su búho Arquímides consiguen rescatarle de esos líos.
En un torneo de caballería en el día de Navidad, Grillo se olvida en una posada la espada de Kay, el hijo de Sir Héctor. Cuando va a recuperarla, ve que la posada está cerrada. El búho Arquimides ve una espada clavada en un yunque sobre una piedra en el patio de la iglesia. Grillo coge esa espada y va corriendo a entregársela a Kay. Kay ve que esa espada no es la suya, y entonces Sir Héctor se percata que esa espada es la que estaba en la iglesia. Todo el mundo sabía que quien sacara la espada de la piedra se convertiría en el rey de Inglaterra. Y entonces, Arturo, con la ayuda de Merlín, se convirtió en el rey más justo que hubo en Inglaterra.
