Es un hechicero y practicante de magia vudú que engaña a Naveen en aceptar un acuerdo con él, utilizando deliberadamente una engañosa jerga, en que el príncipe se convierte en una rana.
Para obtener todo su poder, el Doctor Facilier hace un trato con los Seres del Más Allá mediante el cual queda en deuda con ellos.
Contínuamente, intenta saldarla, pero siempre surge algo que aumenta la deuda. Gracias a éste trato, puede controlar a las Sombras. Para hacerlo, ha de pedírselo a los Seres del Más Allá, y siempre que lo hace aumenta la deuda, aunque Facilier siempre les ofrece una recompensa si le dejan usar las Sombras.
Es el único personaje masculino de un Clásico Disney con ojos morados.
Es el primer villano de un Clásico Disney con piel negra.
Facilier es el primer villano de Disney que no tienen una entrada particular en la que se le presenta directamente, en lugar de ello aparece en la canción de apertura de una manera informal.
Curiosamente, Facilier y Tiana nunca se encuentran, hasta el clímax de la película.
