De pequeña, ella descubrió que tenía el poder de controlar la nieve. Sus hermanas Helga y Gerda le apoyaron con sus poderes. Cuando creció, ella y sus hermanas fueron en busca de Rumplestiltskin para ayudarle con sus poderes, el cual le dio unos guantes que le ayudarían a controlarlos, y una urna mágica en la que podría ser encerrada si todo fuese mal. Cuando el Duque de Weselton intentó coquetear con ella, estando comprometido con Helga, Ingrid le apartó de ella con sus poderes. Tras ello, él la acusó de ser un monstruo. Enfadada, Ingrid le atacó, pero por error, atacó a Helga, la cual terminó congelada. Cuando Gerda vio le que le había hecho a su hermana, encerró a Ingrid en la urna mágica.
Años después, Ingrid fue liberada de la urna por Elsa, y le contó que ella era su tía. Cuando Anna la conoció, empezó a sospechar mal de ella. Por ello, Ingrid la secuestró.

En Storybrooke, ella era propietaria de una heladería. Cuando descubrieron quien era realmente, intentó que Elsa se uniera a ella, sin éxito. También procuró que Emma se uniera a ella y trabajar juntas, pero Emma se negaba. Paso a paso, Ingrid intentó hacerse con el control de Storybrooke.
