Jade hace su aparición de debut junto a Ruby cuando Sofía se va de la Alde Dunwiddie para el Castillo de Encantia tras volverse una Princesa. Le desea a Sofía buena suerte y le dice que no las olvide. Días después, la Reina Miranda invita a Jade y Ruby al castillo para animar a Sofía, que se ha vuelto bastante más callada e introvertida. Sofía está feliz de verla y tiene una fiesta de té. Durante la fiesta, el Príncipe James, de quien Jade está enamorada, llega y Jade derrama té sobre él. Jade es vista por último mirando a James ayudando a Sofía a alistarse para su baile.
Como amiga de Sofía, Jade es un personaje secundario importante en la serie.
Jade hace su primera aparición mayor en "The Big Sleepover". Jade aparece por primera vez con Ruby cuando llegan al castillo para la Pijamada Real a la que Sofía las invitó. Jade se la pasa bien en la fiesta y está feliz de ver a James de nuevo. Su diversión llega a su fin cuando Sofía le dice que actúe como princesa, lo que la deja bastante aburrida. Luego que Sofía accidentalmente dijera que ella y Ruby la avergonzaban, una lastimada Jade decidió irse con Ruby sin saber que Sofía no quería decir eso y que Amber había estado diciendo cosas desagradables sobre ellas. Jade estaba a punto de irse con Ruby cuando Sofía corrió y se disculpó por lo que dijo. Luego reanudaron la fiesta juntas.
Una parte del lado desagradable de Jade es revelado en "The Little Witch". Ella no puede controlar su carácter y no perdona fácilmente. También tiene una tendencia a saltar a conclusiones sin analizar los hechos primero. Esto es mostrado cuando no acepta las disculpas de Lucinda por todas las veces en que la brujita la embrujó y se rehúso a invitarla a la fiesta de cumpleaños incluso después de que Sofía le dijera que Lucinda estaba siendo sincera cuando se disculpó. Es mostrado aún más cuando planea una trampa para Lucinda incluso aunque Ruby le dijera que había visto con sus propios ojos que Sofía tenía razón y cuando le gritó a Lucinda cuando la trampa arruinó su fiesta a pesar de que todo fue su culpa. Sin embargo, puede darse cuenta de cuándo ha cometido un error como se muestra cuando se disculpa con Lucinda.
En "Four's a Crowd", Jade y Ruby son invitadas por Sofía para ser parte del Desfile de las Luces. Mientras trabajan en su carro, Jade y Ruby finalmente se vuelven amigas con Amber y le dicen a Sofía que es divertido que ella no supiera de la felicidad de Sofía sobre esto. Sin embargo, se da cuenta del comportamiento cada vez más errático de Sofía. Luego que Sofía accidentalmente arruinara el carro, Amber, Ruby y Jade finalmente obtienen la verdad sobre ella. Tiene miedo de que ella y Ruby ya no quieran ser sus amigas. Jade le dice que ella y Ruby sólo estaban emocionadas por hacer una nueva amiga.
Otra parte del lado desagradable de Jade es revelada en "A Tale of Two Teams": Aunque ella ama divertirse, también adora ganar al punto de ser una mala deportista. Esto es mostrado cuando le da a Sofía el tratamiento enemigo cuando jugaba con los Halcones Rojos y no la perdonó ni siquiera cuando se unió a los Patos Dunwiddie. Sofía les ayudó a ganar para hacer que Jade la perdonara. También se reveló que Jade necesitaba gafas para ver.
