Trama []
La historia sigue muy de cerca la de la película. En un reino lejano, un rey buscó una cura para la dolencia mortal de su esposa. Después de enterarse de una flor mágica que podía curarlo todo, ordenó un caldo hecho con la flor, y su esposa se curó de inmediato. La compensación era que su hija recién nacida tenía el cabello largo y rubio que poseía sus propios poderes curativos. Al enterarse de este descubrimiento, una bruja malvada secuestró a la pequeña princesa, la encerró en una torre, la crió como su propia hija y le advirtió sobre los horrores del mundo exterior. Años más tarde, un bandido con el nombre de Flynn Rider llegó a la torre y se encontró noqueado por la princesa ahora adolescente llamada Rapunzel. Después de aceptar ocultar su escondite robado, ella hizo un trato con el bandido: el escondite sería devuelto solo si él aceptaba mostrarle el reino donde las linternas voladoras se soltaban todas las noches en su cumpleaños.
