The Muppets (o "Los Teleñecos" en España) es una franquicia cuyos personajes son marionetas. La franquicia fue creada por Jim Henson en 1954-55. Aunque el término se utiliza a menudo para referirse a cualquier títere que se asemeja al estilo distintivo de The Muppet Show, el término es a la vez un nombre informal y la marca legal propiedad de The Walt Disney Company, en referencia a los personajes originales creados por Henson.

En inglés, la palabra "Muppet" es una mezcla de "marionette" (marioneta) y "puppet" (títere). Mientras que el nombre en español, "Teleñeco", es una mezcla de "televisión" y "muñeco".
