La canción es sobre Elsa y Anna como niñas pequeñas quejándose de todas las cosas que se espera que hagan las princesas, diciendo que "saben mejor". La canción sigue su adolescencia, de ser amigas íntimas, a Anna creciendo en una amada variación clásica de una princesa, y a Elsa en una solitaria y temida marginada, y la división que crece entre las dos, a pesar de los intentos de Elsa de mantener vivo su vínculo.
