<p>I think that Yen Sid is not one to embrace a role of royalty. On the contrary, the guy would be much more comfortable standing on the sidelines, advising and mentoring others far younger than him who have both the ability and desire to do good in the world. If you ask me, I am convinced that Yen Sid has seen and done a lot in his life, and he has gone into a relatively-quiet retirement of sorts, aiding others while not getting directly involved himself, except when necessary. His only desire now is to watch as younger generations accomplish great things so he can feel satisfied knowing that he taught them well. </p>

<p>Not that your theory doesn't make much sense, but it's probably just as likely that those skeletons were just citizens who had gotten on the Queen's bad side prior to her attempts on Snow's life. </p><p>Of course, a theory is just a theory. </p>

I mean, every generation of children had their own heroes- larger-than-life individuals whom they idolized and looked up to and wanted to emulate. Babe Ruth, Michael Jordan, etc. Further, I take Skippy's climbing onto the carriage at the end of the movie as proof that Robin later took him under his wing and trained him as his protégé in archery. </p>
