<p>I think that Yen Sid is not one to embrace a role of royalty. On the contrary, the guy would be much more comfortable standing on the sidelines, advising and mentoring others far younger than him who have both the ability and desire to do good in the world. If you ask me, I am convinced that Yen Sid has seen and done a lot in his life, and he has gone into a relatively-quiet retirement of sorts, aiding others while not getting directly involved himself, except when necessary. His only desire now is to watch as younger generations accomplish great things so he can feel satisfied knowing that he taught them well.
