Here's my version of the 2007 Underdog film: The movie would be produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and it would feature cameos from other Total Television characters. This version would introduce newcomers to Underdog and other Total Television characters. Unlike the live action version, the animated film would feature humans and talking animals co-exisiting.
As a result, the animals would have a more anthrophic appearance instead. Riff Raff would be a wolf gangster instead of a Rotwiller, like the original series. Additionally the anthrophic animals would be treated like second class citizens. Like the original version of the film, Peter Dinklage would still play Dr. Simon Barsinister, but Patrick Warburton would try to do an impression of Humphrey Bogart when voicing Cad Lackey like how Ben Stone did in the original series.
Additionally, Cad Lackey would act dimwitted but occasionally capable of pointing out flaws in his boss's plans, like the original series.
Riff Raff and his gang would also have larger roles in the film, and they would work with Dr. Simon Barsinister and Cad Lackey.
Dr. Simon Barsinister would use a serum to give animals a chance to prove they can't be second class citizens and use them to take over the city. Dr. Simon Barsinister wouldn't feel like taking over the world because it's not his thing.
Also, the animals would talk to the humans. Sweet Polly Purebred would also serve as a news reporter like the original series. Then there's the cameos from other Total Television characters.
They would all speak in the film. Additionally the characters who make cameos would make references to their source material, making the film not just a love letter to Underdog, but also to Total Television as a whole.
I also thought when Shoeshine Boy, after he gains his superpowers, and before he becomes Underdog, meets Dan, he would try to pantomime his actions, due to talking animals being seen as weird by many of the citizens of Capital City. Eventually he would have to break his silence by apologizing for accidentally causing a mess in Dan's house due to his new powers and confessing that he's one of Capital City's talking animals.
Unlike the live action film, Shoeshine Boy would speak throughout the film due to him being a talking animal. Capital City would be infamous for being a hotspot for talking animals, which would be where the cameos from other Total TV characters come into play.
What do you think?
