Sam is een nuchter, gemotiveerd persoon en houdt zich regelmatig bezig met oefeningen. Net als Steve heeft hij plichtsbesef en is hij bereid te vechten voor datgene waarin hij gelooft. Sam geeft Steve ook wijze raad, zelfs als Steve het er niet mee eens is. Hij heeft ook gevoel voor humor.
