“America” - piosenka z musicalu West Side Story z 1957 roku. Słowa napisał Stephen Sondheim, a muzykę skomponował kompozytor Leonard Bernstein.
W oryginalnej teatralnej wersji Anita – dziewczyna Bernarda, lidera Rekinów i najważniejsza postać kobieca po Marii – wychwala Amerykę, a Portorykanka Rosalia wspiera Puerto Rico. Ta wersja piosenki potępia wyspę i podkreśla pozytywne cechy amerykańskiego życia ("I'll drive a Buick through San Juan/If there's a road you can drive on"). Ironią tego rzekomo proamerykańskiego numeru jest jednak jego tętniący życiem latynoski styl muzyczny, z latynoską perkusją, złożonym rytmem krzyżowym i hiszpańską gitarą.
Piosenka była też wykonana w dwóch adaptacjach filmowych musicalu: z 1961 i 2021 roku. Piosenkę można było też usłyszeć w 17 odcinku trzeciego sezonu programu The Muppet Show. Zespół The Electric Mayhem wykonuje piosenkę na planie ozdobionym tradycyjnymi amerykańskimi gwiazdami i paskami. Piosenka zamienia się w globalne jam session, gdy dołączają do nich międzynarodowe Muppety.
Wśród międzynarodowych Muppetów są: szaman reprezentujący naród plemienny, meksykański Whatnot grający na trąbce („Jarabe Tapatio”, lepiej znany jako „The Mexican Hat Dance”), dwóch rosyjskich świńskich żołnierzy grających na bałałajkach, Mahna Mahna tańczący dla plemienia polinezyjskiego, Szkot grający na dudach („Hava Nagila”) oraz szwedzki szef kuchni grający na harmonijce dla Mary Louise i kozy („See Me Dance the Polka”).
