  • January 28 - Following the renaming of 20th Century Fox to 20th Century Studios and Fox Searchlight Pictures to Searchlight Pictures, its animation arm 20th Century Fox Animation was incorporated and registered legally as 20th Century Animation, Inc.[45]
  • February 25 - Bob Iger, chief executive officer of The Walt Disney Company, has stepped down from his role, and has named Bob Chapek of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, as its new CEO. He will assume the role of Executive Chairman and its Board of Directors to ensure a smooth transition through the end of his contract with the company on December 31, 2021.
  • March 11 - Frozen played its final performance on Broadway due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • March 24 - Disney+ was launched in Austria, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Spain, Ireland, and Switzerland.
  • April 2 - Disney+ launched in the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.
  • April 3 - Disney+ was launched in India via its existing service, Hotstar, while also rebranding its paid tiers as a co-branded service.
  • April 7 - Disney+ was launched in France. For its launch, Canal+ became the exclusive distributor for Disney+.
  • April 8 - Disney+ surpasses 50 million paid subscribers after its launch on November 12.
  • April 15 - The Walt Disney Company has elected its new CEO Bob Chapek to its Board of Directors. Chapek, however, will not be joining any board committees for the time being.
  • April 30 - Disney+ was launched in Monaco, Wallis and Futuna, New Caledonia, French West Indies and French Guiana, through its premium service provider Canal+.

    • Josh D'Amaro was named as the new chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, taking over from former chairman and current CEO of The Walt Disney Company, Bob Chapek.[46]
    • Rebecca Campbell, who served as President of the Disneyland Resort, was named chairwoman of Walt Disney Direct-to-Consumer & International, taking over from Kevin Mayer.[47]
    • Jeff Vahle, former President of Disney Signature Experiences, was named as President of the Walt Disney World Resort.
    • Ken Potrock, former President of Disney Consumer Products, was named as President of the Disneyland Resort.
    • Kareem Daniel, former President of Walt Disney Imagineering Operations/Product Creation/Publishing/Games, was named as President of Disney Consumer Products.
    • Thomas Mazloum, former Senior Vice President of Resort and Transportation Operations at the Walt Disney World Resort, was named as President of Disney Signature Experiences.[48]
