- After the release of The Woman in the Window, Disney will shut down Fox 2000.
- January 6 - The Disney Channel becomes an uninterrupted to limited commercial service.
- January 17 - The Walt Disney Company announced that they have dropped the Fox name on both 20th Century Fox and Fox Searchlight Pictures and were respectively renamed as 20th Century Studios and Searchlight Pictures. Its logos and fanfare were still kept intact.[14]
