- February 29 - As the coronavirus outbreak continues to evolve, The Oriental Land Company has announced a temporary closure of the Tokyo Disney Resort originally until March 15. However, it has extended its closure until after mid-May, after a state of emergency was declared for seven Japanese prefectures. It applies to Tokyo Disneyland, Tokyo DisneySea, and the Ikspiari shopping complex. Guests with reservations for dinner shows, the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, and Vacation Packages will receive a full refund. Guests with unused tickets dated or expiring between February 29-May 31, 2020 can have their ticket changed to an open-dated ticket expiring March 31, 2021. Guests with Annual Passports will have the expiration date extended. The hotels throughout the Tokyo Disney Resort remained open prior to its temporary closure, but with some benefits and various services unavailable to guests staying at them. The Disney Resort Line are under normal operations.
- March 4 - Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway and Vacation Fun - An Original Animated Short with Mickey & Minnie open at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
- March 9 - Announced on their official website, the Shanghai Disney Resort will resume limited operations for the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel, Disneytown, and the Wishing Star Park. Shanghai Disneyland remains closed.
- March 12
- In response to the coronavirus outbreak spreading throughout Europe, Disneyland Paris has announced that outdoor shows, including Disney Illuminations and Star Wars: A Galactic Celebration have been cancelled. The following shows will continue operations, but will be in limited capacity: Frozen: A Musical Celebration, Mickey and the Magician, and Moteurs... Action! Stunt Show Spectacular. Other locations, including attractions, shops, restaurants, and Studio 1 will continue operations with capacity adjusted as necessary. Non-face character greetings and Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show are still in operation.
- Wonderful World of Animation has its final performance at Disney's Hollywood Studios; it was originally set to close on May 12.
- March 13 - Disney Movie Magic returns at Disney's Hollywood Studios; however, it remains closed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
- March 14 - As a result of the coronavirus outbreak, Disney Cruise Line has temporarily suspended departures and the Disneyland Resort, including Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, are temporarily closed, originally until March 31, but will remain closed until further notice, following the guidelines set forth by the Governor of California to prevent the spread of the virus. The hotels at the Disneyland Resort remained open until March 16, to give guests time to make all necessary travel arrangements. The Downtown Disney shopping and entertainment complex was also temporarily closed. Guests with packages booked through the Walt Disney Travel Company may currently reschedule for a "future date in 2020" without paying a charge fee of $50.
- March 15 - As a result of the coronavirus outbreak, Disneyland Paris, including Disneyland Park (Paris) and Walt Disney Studios Park, is temporarily closed, originally until March 31, but will remain closed until further notice.
- March 16 - As a result of the coronavirus outbreak, Walt Disney World, including Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, Disney's Animal Kingdom, Disney's Blizzard Beach, and Typhoon Lagoon is temporarily closed, originally until March 31, but will remain closed until further notice.
- March 24 - In response to the coronavirus outbreak, Aulani is temporary closed, originally until March 31, but will remain closed until further notice.
- March 27 - The closures of Disneyland and Walt Disney World are extended until further notice and Disneyland Paris is to remain closed until at at least, the end of April.
- April 1 - In response to the coronavirus outbreak, all onsite hotels at the Tokyo Disney Resort, including the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel, the Disney Ambassador Hotel, the Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta and the Tokyo Disney Celebration Hotel, are temporary closed, originally until after April 20, however, it was delayed until May 7.

- After the release of The Woman in the Window, Disney will shut down Fox 2000.
- January 6 - The Disney Channel became an uninterrupted to limited commercial service after 22 years of being commerical free.
- January 17 - The Walt Disney Company announced that they have dropped the Fox name on both 20th Century Fox and Fox Searchlight Pictures and were respectively renamed as 20th Century Studios and Searchlight Pictures. Its logos and fanfare were still kept intact.[16]
- February 25 - Bob Iger, chief executive officer of The Walt Disney Company, has stepped down from his role, and has named Bob Chapek of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, as its new CEO. He will assume the role of Executive Chairman and its Board of Directors to ensure a smooth transition through the end of his contract with the company on December 31, 2021.
