"A Creep in the Deep" is the thirty-third episode of Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers. It premiered on November 13, 1989, and is the twentieth episode of the second season.
Plot[]
The Rangers are spurred into action by a rash of bizarre attacks on seafood shipments and restaurants. This grabs Chip's interest. Monty agrees but gets into rash actions, such as getting his tail stuck in the door. They reach a pizza parlor close to the beachline with unusual tire tracks. Monty gets bored and also gets one of his cheese attacks, which burns his tail as he grabs the pizza slice and eats it. While talking about Monty's time in Italy the monster attacks the parlor, only for them find that the attacks are being led by a fish by the name of Captain Finn, who has modified a sunken submarine so that it holds water, allowing Captain Finn and his crew to traverse on land.
Captain Finn orders All-Hands to take the anchovies to be placed in the sea for burial. Monty gets impetuous and almost drowns when the sub is revealed to be full of water, but also once again gets caught by the tail when All-Hands closes the door. Luckily for Monty, Zipper uses cooking grease from the kitchen to free Monty from the sub. They decide to talk to Barnacle Bill at the Sea Bar, only for Monty to insult an easily offended prawn and a gluttonous clam. Chip and Dale manages to get information from two fish from a pet shop about Finn going to Sealand.
They try to warn Nemo, but he laughs at the thought of a submarine. While Monty and Chip talk about deduction All-Hands climbs up the wall and plants a bomb on the wall, Gadget through the water notices the sounds and deducts that All-Hands is planting a bomb. She uses a plunger/firework hybrid to stop All-Hands and launches him, but the bomb blows up and causes the Rescue Rangers and Nemo to go down the hole. Zipper, the only one who can fly, finds Nemo and the Rescue Rangers inside his mouth (owing them an apology for ignoring their warning) with Monty stuck in his teeth. Finn arrogantly welcomes Nemo to join him (not realizing that he was happy in Sealand), while Chip and Dale talk to him within Nemo's mouth. As Nemo charges at Finn, the sea crew leave the enraged orca. Nemo returns the Rescue Rangers to the shore, but reveals he became attached to the Sealand. Monty gets conked by a bottle thrown by the octopus All-Hands. Nemo then gives them a launch out of his hole and the Rescue Rangers discover All-Hands and his broken helmet within a fountain. Monty gets the idea to bring the letter to Captain Finn using All-Hands as bait.
When Finn finds All-Hands, the Rescue Rangers follow Captain Finn into the depths of the ocean in a mini-sub. Gadget uses bubbles to give them oxygen. They infiltrate the ship, only for Monty to accidentally set off the alarm, and they end up getting caught. Trapped in a glass chest, Finn reveals he would have been a valedictorian of his school of fish but the fishing company snatched his school and made them into ingredients for seafood, and that's why he was attacking the restaurants. He explains that he found the ship and manipulated the fish into being his crew for his revenge. He then leaves to break the city dam. Gadget uses a glass cutter to free the Rescue Rangers, then Monty once again deducts a plan to use the organ to pump water out of the ship. As Finn is about to ram the dam, he hears the organ and notices the water is draining and has All-Hands and the Squids go and investigate. All-Hands interferes and attacks Chip and Dale, without realizing the bubbles entered the organ, causing bubbles to surround the sub. Monty gets grabbed by a squid, only for the squid to be retaliated by a aggravated Monty.
Finn thinks that he has finally won, but the bubbles send him and his crew to the mauve desert. The Rescue Rangers escape with a reluctant All-Hands, who later rams into the door of the dam and falls off the edge. The episode ends with Monty telling the others not to mention his injured tail.
