"A Feather in Hook's Hat" is the first segment of the thirty-third episode of Jake and the Never Land Pirates. It premiered on June 5, 2012, and is the first segment of the eighth episode in the second season.
Plot[]
While playing on the shipwrecks on Shipwreck Beach, Jake wrecks the feather on his hat. Izzy, Cubby and Skully decide to go see if the Sing-Songbird will give him a new one. Unknown to the puny pirates, Captain Hook and his scurvy crew are spying on them. Hook wants to replace his feather with one with a little more color, and chooses that he will hunt down the Sing-Songbird as well. While scouring through the Never Land Jungle, Hook and his crew find the Sing-Songbird. Hook demands the bird to give him one of her feathers, but she refuses, causing the captain to chase the bird all across Neverland. Jake and his friends soon discover Hook is frightening the Sing-Songbird and quickly hurry to help the her get away from him. They flee into Tiki Forest among the trees. Hook orders the Tiki Trees to reveal where the Sing-Songbird is hiding, but the trees refuse to assist Hook in his plot. The captain soon grows furious and, once more, demands to know the location of the bird. Knowing that the Tiki Trees will never help Hook, Jake and his crew fool Hook and his crew by disguising themselves as Tiki Trees and point them in the wrong direction, allowing the Sing-Songbird to get away and earning four gold doubloons.
Later, Jake and his crew find the Sing-Songbird near the beach between Coral Cove, singing with Sandy the Starfish, before Hook and his men return, still determined to have the bird's feathers. Jake and his crew come up with another idea: to pretend to be the Sing-Songbird vocalization fooling Hook and his men yet again and giving the real Sing-Songbird time to flee, earning three more gold doubloons. When Jake and his crew finally catch up to the Sing-Songbird, she has returned to her nest atop a cliff in Buccaneer Bird Bluff. Captain Hook, still desperate for one of the Sing-Songbird's feathers, disguises himself as a bird, but the young pirate team intervenes, thwarting Hook's scheme yet again and earned five more gold doubloons. Eventually, Jake asks the Sing-Songbird nicely for a feather for himself and one for Hook. Jake offers the feather to Hook, but he refuses to take it. So Jake decides to leave it next to him in case he changes his mind. He and his mates fly back to Pirate Island. Hook reclaims the feather for himself, only to get knocked out of the nest by a furious eagle.
At the end of the episode, Hook is overjoyed with the new feather, replacing his original plume with the fresh feather. Unbeknownst to him, the new feather is the identical color and size as the old one.
