"A Ghost Story" is the forty-seventh episode of American Dragon: Jake Long.
Plot[]
Jake recalls the time that he failed at camp to win the race when he was a kid, because he had a broken leg and Brad beat him to the finish line.
Jake, Spud, and Trixie all become counselors at camp with a couple of kids who are afraid of ghosts.
Later that night, a diary that belonged to an evil Civil War ghost named Shackles Jack rises out, while a bunch of other ghosts come out such as Solitary Sam, Chain Gang Chuck, Peg Leg Pat, and two unnamed ghosts. Their plan is to find some warm bodies that they can steal and pass off as their own.
Spud sees Shackles Jack and his minions. The ghosts see the magic trophy-like cup that will make ghosts get new bodies if humans are captured. Shackles Jack captures Brad and his crew. Jake fights the ghosts, but Spud and Trixie can't touch ghosts. Jake traps the ghosts, and the kids from the cabin rescue Jake and the others.
Next morning, everyone is eating breakfast and Spud is naked, so he covers up in the bushes. Brad teases Jake, but Jake frames Brad for not wearing clothes. Brad's dad, Officer Morton, arrives and shows that Brad was disobeying the law. Brad loses the towel that he was wearing and everyone starts laughing at Brad.
Etymology[]
- The title is a reference to the 1979 horror novel of the same name.
Trivia[]
- Humans can't touch ghosts; however, dragons are able to touch ghosts as if they were solid, and are therefore able to attack ghosts, but dragons won't touch ghosts if they don't have their dragon chi and the ghosts can't get hit by dragons in their old human forms.
