"A Science Fair to Remember" is the second segment of the forty-second episode of Recess.
Synopsis[]
Little Becky Benson idolizes Gretchen...or does she?
Plot[]
Third Street School is having their annual science fair. Gretchen, who has won the previous years, gives a speech to the students to create their projects for the year. Afterwards, a little girl named Becky Benson approaches Gretchen with help on creating a generator as her project. After helping her out, Gretchen invites Becky to help with her current project, a giant solar powered generator, but forgets to turn in her form for the contest. Becky opts to deliver both their forms for her, but the next morning, Gretchen discovers that Becky only turned hers in and stole Gretchen's project, shocking and angering her.
Meanwhile, the rest of the Gang has opted to create their own science volcanoes. Initially, the try to do them separately, but decide to combine them into one. Gretchen solemnly watches as Becky tries to pass her experiment off as her own, but when asked how it works, Becky is unable to give an answer. Gretchen steps up and helps her, much to Becky's confusion. Becky ends up winning, but she admits to stealing the project from Gretchen and turns down the award. Principal Prickly and the judges are unsure who to give the trophy to until the Gang's collective volcanoes erupt, after having previously failed to do so. Prickly reluctantly gives them the trophy.
