"A Soda to Remember" is the second segment of the twenty-third episode of the Disney Channel animated series The Ghost and Molly McGee. It premiered on April 15, 2023 alongside "Faint of Art", and is the second segment of the third episode in the third season.
Synopsis[]
When Scratch recalls a rare soda from his past life, Molly is determined to get it for him.
Plot[]
While Pete tries to impress Ruben, Molly recalls her past memories with Libby and Scratch, with the latter having no interest in wanting to discuss them. Molly comes to the realization that in the time she has known him, Scratch has never discussed his past when he was alive. He says it is because he does not remember it and admits that he has no interest in doing so as it probably wasn't important. She finally gets him to confess to having one memory that he does recall: a very rare and discontinued strawberry soda. Molly gets Darryl to search the dark web, but he manages to find the soda, only for it to get confiscated by Principal O'Connor who has banned fruit soda from school.
The gang decide to plan out a heist to get the strawberry soda back. Even through Scratch shows no interest in wanting to do so, Molly manages to convince him to go along with their plan. Libby keeps an eye on O'Conner who is in the teacher's lounge, while Darryl uses the cameras and radio to update everyone. However, O'Connor is about to leave to his office after someone ate his tacos (Scratch ate them), forcing Libby to improvise. Molly and Scratch break into O'Connor's office and find his safe where Scratch opens it up, despite saying previously that he couldn't. O'Connor rushes back to the office after eating taco sauce and plans to quench his thirst with the soda, but Molly manages to distract him.
Molly comes to the sudden realization that Scratch has been sabotaging his own heist from the beginning. He admits that he is afraid of remembering his past as he believes that the reason he forgot it was because it was too sad for him. Molly encourages Scratch and he helps swap the soda with a fake one just as O'Connor returns. Back home, Scratch finally drinks the soda, but nothing happens. Molly accidentally lets slip what happened at school, angering Sharon and scaring Libby away. Scratch takes another sip of the soda and suddenly has a flashback to a young girl, identified as Adia in the credits, telling Scratch that they will always drink the soda to remember each other before moving away. Scratch becomes saddened by this.

- On April 2, 2023, the episode was released early on Disney+.
- Molly reveals that when she was seven, her family lived in Ada, Oklahoma.
- Scratch's love for strawberry soda was foreshadowed in the very first episode "The Curse". It is also a nod to Thai culture where it is accepted that ghosts love the taste of strawberry soda.
- The plot of this episode is similar to the Big City Greens episode "Honey Heist", both episodes features the main protagonist planning a heist with their sibling and best friend to obtain a food item. Both episodes also has the gang getting busted by their parents but still succeeds in the end.
