When the Tremaines receive an invitation to Cinderella's wedding, Anastasia decides to change her life for the better.
Plot[]
Anastasia reflects on life in the chateau since Cinderella left with the Grand Duke. Her mother and sister even refuse to leave their beds now, and Anastasia has tried to keep house, but with little success. Lady Tremaine and Drizella don't see the point in music lessons or even getting dressed anymore. Word has spread about how they had treated Cinderella, and now they are hated by the whole town. One day, however, Anastasia receives a knock on the door, meeting Benoit, a messenger from the palace, who has come to deliver a letter from Cinderella inviting her stepfamily to her wedding, which surprises Anastasia. When Anastasia is surprised by his kindness towards her, despite knowing what they had done, he confides in her that he has an idea about how she feel, as his father had ruined his family name and they had gone through a similar experience as the Tremaines currently were.
Anastasia is at first hopeful for the future when Benoit tells her that Cinderella has personally invited them to her upcoming wedding, but just as she's about to take the invitation, her mother comes over to the door and snatches it up. Lady Tremaine ripping up the invitation in anger upon hearing what it is for, yelling at Benoit that they are not Cinderella's family and that they want nothing to do with her, before slamming the door on him. Anastasia opens the door after she leaves to apologize, but finds that he is already gone. She instead finds his pocket watch with an engraved message on it from Benoit's father. This makes Anastasia sad, as it reminds her of her own late father, how he had called her his Strawberry, taught her to read and snuck her and Drizella treats between meals.
