"A Two-Way Street" is the eighth episode of season two of the Disney+ streaming television series The Mysterious Benedict Society and the sixteenth episode of the series overall. It was released on December 7, 2022 and is the series finale.

Synopsis[]

Freshly arrived at a haven from Number Two's past, The Society bands together to stave off disaster.

Plot[]

Number Two directs the group to her family home where they meet her disapproving mother Rowena, her odd sister Charity, and her optimistic brother One. It is quickly apparent that Rowena and Number Two do not see eye-to-eye and accuses her of "abandoning" the family. The kids quickly get to work trying to build another flash device so that they can cure Constance. Dr. Curtain awakens to his brother and reveals that he had assumed that he would do something like this and knows that his Gray Men will arrive to rescue him. Mr. Benedict begins complaining about neck pains before supposedly succumbing to the immobility, sending Dr. Curtain into hysterics.

The kids get to work on building the device, with the exception of Constance who is sent inside to go work on a jigsaw puzzle. Dr. Curtain finally admits that his plans have been about simply trying to gain his brother's approval and that he knows what he did was wrong. Mr. Benedict reveals that he had been faking, having been saved before Jackson and Jillson could stop him, and that he knew that he would open up if he made him think he lost him. Number Two continues to argue with Rowena about the life she chose when One arrives and tells them that he heard that the Gray Men were coming. Everyone proceeds to lay traps as most of the Gray Men fall for them.

The Gray Men, lead by Jeffers, Jackson and Jillson, arrive with the Two Family prepared to fight them off. However, Dr. Curtain exits the house and reveals that he has already been "saved" and tells everyone to leave and choose their own destiny. Jackson and Jillson proclaim that they will carry on his teachings while a baffled Jeffers and the Gray Men walk away confused. During the commotion, Constance has become immobile. The flash device will not work on her, so Mr. Benedict suggests reaching out to her emotionally. They deduce that since she loves insulting her, they will annoy her. This works and Constance awakens back to her old self.

Rhonda and Number Two return home to their lumberjack competition, which they win this time, as Reynie returns home with Ms. Perumal. He finally gets a letter from Sticky who asks that he come visit him at Boatwright Academy. Kate writes a letter to him telling him that she and Milligan are doing well while Constance sends a letter that simply states she fulfilled writing one to him. Back at the mansion, Constance finally asks Mr. Benedict if he can finally look for her parents and he concedes. They are suddenly visited by a reformed Dr. Curtain who not only plans to join the Society, but also reveals that he and Mr. Benedict have a sister who is also evil.
