"A Very Hungry Ghost" is the second segment of the fourteenth episode of the Disney Channel animated series, The Ghost and Molly McGee.
Synopsis[]
When the McGee's celebrate a Thai holiday about feeding “hungry ghosts”, Scratch tries to keep the feast all to himself.
Plot[]
While Pete and Sharon are camping away (and getting attacked by a bear), Grandma Nin visits to watch over Molly and Darryl for Sart Duan Sib, a holiday where they make a large bounty of food for ghosts. Scratch is eager to eat, but must wait for the evening and is asked to bring his other ghost friends to the banquet as well. Molly and Darryl in the meantime both make it a competition to see who can make the most dumplings and win Nin's favor, despite her telling them to stop it. Scratch is convinced to invite Geoff and visits him in the underworld to tell him about it, partially trying to deter him, and rounds it off by telling him to "not tell nobody".
The evening banquet arrives as Scratch is forced to wait for Geoff to arrive. He finally does so as he tries to hurry him out, only to learn that Geoff had in fact invited several other ghosts to the banquet after misinterpreting his directions ("I didn't tell nobody. Which as a double negative, cancels itself."). Scratch is forced to watch in horror as his food gets gobbled up by the other ghosts. Meanwhile, Molly and Darryl are still being competitive with one another when the rush comes in, but are frightened by Nin who takes control of the situation. Scratch suddenly gets called up by the Ghost Council who are convinced that Scratch scared a family into servitude and also join the banquet.
The Ghost Council arrive, scaring the other ghosts away, as Scratch tries to cover for Molly, who is unaware of his situation. He explains that if they discovered that he was happily living with a human family instead of scaring them, he could be taken away forever. Molly plans to fight back, but Nin offers that they make the food for them instead. Scratch serves the food as the Ghost Council approves of it and leave satisfied, while also mocking Scratch's accidental typo (Scar Report instead of Scare Report). Relaxed, Scratch tried to have the remainder of the food, only to learn that it is all gone. Nin offers that they order a pizza with Scratch asking for pineapples.
