Abbot Costello is an Abbott who appears in the second episode of the sixth season of Disney's Adventures of the Gummi Bears, in the section titled "Friar Tum". Lured by the aroma of their daily baking, Tummi Gummi ends up in the company of Abbot Costello and his fellow (human) monks. Abbot later rescues Tummi from Trolls and helps him run them out of Thelonious Abbey.
Physical Appearance[]
Abbot Costello is an elderly human. He has white hair and wears a brown monk tunic. He also wears glasses.
Personality[]
Abbot Costello is kind, taking Tummi in and giving him food when he finds him outside the Abbey. He also invites him to stay for a while, later inviting him to become a monk. However, he is also courageous, defending himself and Tummi from Trolls.
Abilities[]
Abbot Costello can bake. It is implied that he prepares all the food at the Abbey and runs the kitchen.
Role in Gummi Bears[]
Abbot Costello first meets Tummi outside Thelonious Abbey, inviting him inside and giving him food. He also offered to let Tummi stay at the Abbey for a while. Later, he welcomes three Trolls into the Abbey, disguised as monks that were invited to stay there.
After using their disguises to steal "alms" from various people, the Trolls return to the Abbey where they force Abbot Costello to make them food. However, Tummi arrives and helps the Abbot fight the Trolls, eventually rolling them out the Abbey doors in a huge ball of bread dough. Later, after introducing Tummi to the monks living at the Abbey, Abbot Costello expresses his desire for Tummi to live with them as well, but he politely declines.
