Adam Richard Sandler is an American actor, comedian, singer, musician, producer, and writer. He is perhaps best known for his comedic film roles in Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Big Daddy, Mr. Deeds, and the Grown Ups films, as well as being the founder of his production company Happy Madison Productions. He is also well-known for voicing Count Dracula in Sony Pictures' Hotel Transylvania franchise, Donald the Capuchin Monkey in Zookeeper, and the titular character of the 2023 Netflix animated film Leo. Additionally, he made a special guest appearance with Elmo in season 40 of Sesame Street, where he sang "Song About Elmo".

For Disney, he played Skeeter Bronson in the 2008 fantasy comedy film Bedtime Stories, which was also his first appearance in a family-oriented film. He also guest-starred as himself in the Jessie episode "Punch Dumped Love" (the episode's title being a parody of one of Sandler's own movies Punch-Drunk Love). Additionally, he portrayed the titular role of Robert "Bobby" Boucher, Jr. in the 1998 Touchstone Pictures sports comedy film The Waterboy, Mambuza Bongo Guy (uncredited) in The Hot Chick, and Robert Justin in Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo. He was also mentioned in an episode of Liv and Maddie and in the A.N.T. Farm episode "animal husbANTry".

Sandler was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Judith "Judy" (née Levine), a nursery school teacher, and Stanley Sandler, an electrical engineer. His family is Jewish and descends from Russian immigrants on both sides. Sandler grew up in Manchester, New Hampshire, after his family moved there when he was six years old. He attended Manchester Central High School. As a teen, Sandler was in BBYO, a Jewish youth group. He graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in 1988.
