Alfredo James "Al" Pacino is an American film and stage actor and director who is well known for playing mobsters and gangsters, including Michael Corleone in The Godfather trilogy and Tony Montana in Scarface.
For Disney, he played Alphonse "Big Boy" Caprice in the 1990 Touchstone Pictures film, Dick Tracy. The role earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He also played Walter Burke in the 2003 Touchstone Pictures film, The Recruit and Lowell Bergman in The Insider.
- Pacino was originally offered the role of Han Solo in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, but he turned down the offer beacuse on his words, "he doesn't understand the film's script", so Harrison Ford was cast instead. Years later, he jokingly stated that turning down the role of Solo was a "missed opportunity" of his career.
- Pacino was once in consideration for the role of Eddie Valiant in Who Framed Roger Rabbit. However, Bob Hoskins ended up being cast in that part.
- In Beverly Hills Chihuahua, during the scene where Monte and his tribe of Chihuahuas save Chloe and Delgado from 3 mountain lions, he quotes: "Say hello to my little friends."; a reference to Al Pacino's title character's famous line "Say hello to my little friend." from Scarface.
- Pacino was also originally considered as the first choice for the role of Justin Hammer in Iron Man 2, but at the end, Sam Rockwell, who was almost cast as Iron Man in the first film, was cast in the role instead.
