Replacing the Tahitian Terrace in 1993, Aladdin's Oasis served Americanized Middle Eastern cuisine and featured a dinner show loosely retelling the story of the film. However, the dinner show only lasted a few years and the restaurant switched to a seasonal operating schedule before ending almost entirely in favor of using the Oasis as a character greeting space. In later years, food service would return to the venue but was limited to special nighttime show Dining Package meals that could be eaten at the Oasis or taken on the go. Dining Packages came with access to VIP viewing locations for fireworks, Fantasmic! and parades.
Starting in 1997, the Aladdin's Oasis venue was primarily used for storytelling and character greetings and in 2008, also hosted Indiana Jones and the Secret of the Stone Tiger, which utilized the Cave of Wonders backdrop as the title location. Storytelling at Aladdin's Oasis would run on a seasonal basis and the last performances took place in December of 2017.
On February 23, 2018, it was announced that Aladdin's Oasis would be replaced with a new restaurant named The Tropical Hideaway. Elements such as a Magic Carpet floor mosaic and various Arabian lamps would be retained in the redesign, while the dialog loop of animatronic cockatoo Rosita would allude to the space's history by describing the location as an oasis.
