Alex Larson is the deuteragonist in Disney's White Fang. He is based on Matt from Jack London's novel.

In the late 19th Century, a young explorer named Jack Conroy arrives in Alaska from San Francisco to look for his deceased father's mining claim. Conroy meets a musher named Clarence "Skunker" Thurston and Alex Larson, Conroy's father's buddy, who reluctantly agrees to guide Jack to his father's claim in the Yukon. When Jack and Alex encounter White Fang who has been cruelly treated by his owner, Beauty Smith, he rescues the canine from the jaws of death during a fight with a fierce bulldog named Cherokee. Aided by his friend Alex, Jack nurses White Fang back to health, and the animal becomes a close companion to the men. Just as Jack is boarding the ship back to San Francisco, Jack realizes that his rightful place is in the Yukon and he decides to stay behind alone and live off the land; Alex and his lover, Belinda Casey, him by saying that it is what Jack's father would have wanted.
