Alexis Denisof is an American actor who, for Disney, voiced Nigel Taylor in Tarzan & Jane, Henry in The Legend of Tarzan episode "Tarzan and the New Wave", and played The Other in The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy, Daniel in the ABC TV show, Private Practice episode "Serving Two Masters", and Dr. Randall Vetter in the ABC Studios TV show, Perception.
Denisof was born in Salisbury, Maryland; his family moved to Seattle, Washington, when he was three years old. He attended Highline College, where his mother was head of the drama department. After graduating from St. Paul's School in Concord, New Hampshire, he moved to London, England, at age 17, where he lived, worked, and studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
Denisof began his career as a fight director for BBC productions like The Other Side, Romeo and Juliet, and The Soul's Dark Night. His first lead role was alongside Christopher Lee in the feature film Murder Story before appearing in films like Dakota Road, First Knight, Noah's Ark, True Blue, Love, Wedding, Marriage, Justice League: Doom, Much Ado About Nothing, and Under My Skin.
His most recognized television roles include Lord John Rossendale in Sharpe and Wesley Wyndam-Pryce in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and more prominently in its spinoff Angel. His other television credits include How I Met Your Mother, Private Practice, Grimm, Finding Carter, Batman Beyond, Dollhouse, Justice League Unlimited, Highlander: The Series, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and the web series I Love Bekka & Lucy as Glenn, and was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Actor in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series, his first such nomination.
