Alice is the main protagonist of the Alice Comedies series. She is a young girl, who is friends with an animated cat named Julius. She was played by four actresses over time the first being Virginia Davis, then Margie Gay, next Anne Shirley, and finally, Lois Hardwick.

Alice is the main protagonist of the Alice Comedies series. She first appeared in "Alice's Wonderland" as the daughter of an animator. She was played by Virginia Davis for a long time, her last film as the character being in "Alice in the Jungle". Margie Gay would be the next person who played Alice, although Anne Shirley played Alice in one short. Lois Hardwick took the role in "Alice's Circus Daze", although most of her films are lost. Alice would be retired in 1927 in favor of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit
