- “I am Alistair Clawbottom. And we here at Scare Masters have been scaring our way up from the bottom for over a century! And this newfangled Laugh Power is an affront to our monster nature. It's all malarkey, I say. Malarkey!”

Alistair Clawbottom is an elderly male monster and the founder of a rival energy company, Scare Masters, in the Disney/Pixar animated series Monsters at Work.
Appearances[]
Monsters at Work[]
In "The C.R.E.E.P. Show", Alistair is first seen giving a presentation at the eponymous event, talking proudly about scream energy and showing contempt at Laugh Power, disregarding it as an affront to monster nature and all malarkey. A younger image of Alistar also appeared in a picture of him, Jack Worthington (the founder of Fear Co.), and the founder of Scream Industries in a presentation at the Fear Co. pavilion. He later appears looking unimpressed at Mike and Sulley's presentation of laugh power at the convention, despite the general public actually showing more interest in laugh power, even stating that the lights powered from laughter were too bright.
In "Lights! Camera! Chaos!", he appears watching Jack and Jill’s exposé of Monsters, Inc., at one point agreeing with Mike when he tells Sulley that he's embarrassing himself on television when Sulley gets wary to said embarrassment.
His last appearance is in "Powerless", where he expresses shock at finding out that Johnny Worthington, C.E.O. of Fear Co. has stolen energy from Monsters, Inc. and also sheds tears of joy when he sees Tylor and Val showing off laugh power’s potential as they fraternize with a human child named "Ben", specifically when they re-enacted their encounter with Karloff the Shrieker.
Trivia[]
- Alistair says that his company has been providing scare power for Monstropolis for over a century, which implies that he must be over a century of age since he’s the founder of Scare Masters.
