Plot[]
Doug arrives home to tell his children that it is bring your child to work day. Dylan immediately checks out, as he has no interest in going to the firehouse. However, he adds that he is only allowed to bring one child so he holds a raffle to see who will go. Dolly ends up being chosen and she excitedly voices her approval of seeing her father in action. Donning a cape, helmet and goggles, Dolly prepares to go with Doug to the fire station. She is disappointed to find that the station is bleak and that their leader, Captain Walker, is a grumpy woman who leads a band of rather lethargic firemen. Dolly tries asking what to do when a fire breaks out, but Doug points out that they need to make sure that never happens. Dolly steals a control pad for a presentation and has the whole team chase after her. However, after a long chase, everyone falls fast asleep.
Back at Dalmatian Street, Dylan attempts to enjoy his day at home, but cannot get anything done with the other puppies constantly making noise. He escapes to his tree house, but begins to sneeze. Soon his hearing falters and his eyes water and Dylan begins to realize that his neighbors, the cats, are having a Japanese themed party complete with origami and sashimi. He complains to Constantin, but he ignores him and tells him not to get his snot on the sashimi. Dylan retreats into his tree house, but he knocks his telescope over causing the light of the sun to reflect off of it and burn one of the origami, causing a chain reaction that sets the whole backyard on fire.
Dolly hears the fire alarm go off and manages to wake up Doug and the firemen, who get prepped and head out. Dolly realizes that despite her prior conception, the firemen are always busy studying so that they know what to do when a fire breaks out. They head off to Dalmatian Street and proceed to put out the fire and rescue Dylan, who was trapped in his tree house with the other cats. Having successfully put out the fires and able to witness her father in action, Dolly celebrates, but accidentally blasts Walker in the face with water, causing her to voice her dislike towards bring your child to work day.

- The title card features Doug wearing a red superhero cape, much like the DC Comics character Krypto the Superdog.
