"All Night Plight" is the second segment of the nineteenth episode of the Disney Channel animated series, The Ghost and Molly McGee.
Synopsis[]
Molly, Scratch, and Libby try to stay up all night to see a rare comet.
Plot[]
At school, Ms. Lightfoot tells the class about a comet that is to pass by Brighton later that night and is so excited that she cancels classes for the rest of the day so that everyone can experience it. Molly is overly excited and makes plans to see the comet with Libby and Scratch so that they can make a forever memory. Scratch does not care much for the comet and only agrees upon hearing that snacks will be involved while Libby states that it would be nice to have a reminder in the next fifty years to see how they turn out; a notion that grabs Molly. Libby agrees to go, despite the fact that she has had a history of acting weird when she tries to stay up all night.
Molly prevents Scratch from eating any of the snacks until Libby arrives. When she does, she already displays a drowsy appearance. Molly is annoyed to learn that there is too much light pollution in their area and convinces Sharon, after she and Pete argue over it, to drive them out somewhere where there is barely any lights. Sharon takes the three to a farm, where one of her Gig Pig jobs were, and Libby begins to talk like her favorite fantasy book. Scratch is angered to learn that they accidentally left the snacks behind and tries to order a pizza, much to Molly's chagrin, and Libby continues to wander off where she awakes a herd of buffalo (believing they are dragons) and riding the stampede towards the others.
While hiding in a tree, clouds block the sky; angering Molly even further. As she pitifully tries to blow the clouds away, Scratch asks her why she is obsessed with trying to watch the comet. She reveals that she wants one good memory of the three of them together so they can look back on this in fifty years and remember one another. Moved by her notion, Scratch turns into a hot air balloon and takes Molly and Libby up above the clouds where they manage to get a clear view of the sky and see the comet in all its glory. When the three return to the ground, they proceed to go and wake up Sharon to take them back, only to realize that they forgot about the buffalo, who are still angered.
