Amadeus Cho is a 13-year-old genius who appears in the Marvel Comics animated series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. This variant works as an intern at Oscorp alongside Peter.

Amadeus Cho was created by Greg Pak and Takeshi Miyazawa.

Background[]

Amadeus and Peter do get along, but Amadeus does like to outdo Peter and the other interns with his project. However, Amadeus does show sympathy for Peter after noticing he has a bruised face and a broken arm, after claiming to be mugged, despite joking about his appearance after a near-fatal fight against the Scorpion. When Harry Osborn decides to start his own company aside from Oscorp, for young geniuses, Amadeus receives an invite, but declines to stay faithful to Oscorp.

Trivia[]

  • In the comics, Amadeus Cho is introduced as a supporting character for the Hulk before making guest appearances in other titles such as The Incredible Hercules. He ultimately absorbs gamma radiation himself and starts to call himself The Totally Awesome Hulk, before separating himself as Brawn.
  • Interestingly, Amadeus is established as being an offshoot of the Hulk in the comics named Brawn, but two years prior, the Ultimate Spider-Man series has him adopting the Iron Spider name. Iron Man and his Awesome Friends amalgamates both concepts with him becoming Iron Hulk.
  • In The Incredible Hulk, an unnamed computer nerd, portrayed by Martin Starr, makes a brief appearance. In the novelization of the film, the character was identified as Amadeus Cho. This would be unreasonable as Cho is of Korean descent. Instead, when Starr made an appearance as Roger Harrington in the Spider-Man films, he was retconned as being the same character.
