Appearances[]
Mufasa: The Lion King[]
As part of his father Kiros's campaign to kill every pride in the Valley of Kings, the young lion Shaju and his fellow Outsider Azibo attacked Eshe, only for Mufasa to leap to her defense and kill Shaju. Outnumbered, Azibo fled and reported what had happened to Kiros. At Kiros's summons, Akua and Amara sniffed Azibo and determined that only one lion had left blood on his mane; thus, he had abandoned Shaju to die. As recompense for his son's death, Kiros allowed his pride to kill Azibo. Shortly afterwards, the Outsiders confronted Obasi's pride and killed them all.
Upon realizing that Mufasa and his brother, Taka, had survived, the Outsiders tracked them to a river. Kiros demanded to know which of them had killed his son, and Mufasa took the blame. Though he attempted to lie that Taka was nothing more than a stray, Akua and Amara pointed out that he held the blood of Obasi's pride. Bent on revenge, Kiros ordered his pride to attack, but Mufasa and Taka escaped by jumping off a nearby waterfall.
Later, the Outsiders caught up to Mufasa, Scar, and their allies in a ravine. As they attempted to cross a series of rock bridges to reach their quarry, Sarabi incited an elephant stampede that knocked the rock bridges down, thus cutting off the Outsiders' pursuit.
The Outsiders continued to track Mufasa and his allies but eventually lost the trail on a snowy mountain, both because their scent had been blown away and because Zazu had been covering their tracks. Just then, Taka approached and proposed an alliance between himself and the Outsiders. Kiros accepted, and Taka began to lead the Outsiders to Milele by leaving a trail of claw marks.
When Mufasa and his allies at last reached Milele, the Outsiders revealed their presence and launched an attack. Mufasa managed to rally the animals of Milele to his side, and they leaped into battle against the Outsiders. During the ensuing fight, Akua, Amara, and several lionesses began to chase down a pride of lions who had allied with Mufasa. However, an earthquake caused the ground to open up beneath them, and they fell through a fissure in the earth to their deaths.
