"Amber" is the twenty-third episode of the first season of Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero. It premiered on June 8, 2015.

Synopsis[]

Penn and the team enlist the help of Sheriff Scaley Briggs to stop Rippen and Amber, Briggs' daughter, from rustling all the Cow-o-saurs in town.

Plot[]

The episode starts at The Odyssey, where Phyllis tells the heroes they are going to a world they previously visited before. Penn says the mission will be a piece of cake as Phyllis tells them they aren't going to Piece Of Cake World because, apparently, there was too much blood in that world. She then zaps the heroes into the world.

The heroes get zapped into the Dinosaur Cowboy World, a world they previously visited in The Old Old West. Penn and Boone get excited as Boone pronounces "Big Butte" as "Big Butt", which Sashi corrects him. Boone collects and drinks Cow-o-saur milk as Sashi tells the boys that just because they visited this world before doesn't mean the mission will be easy, pointing out Rippen was here before too, but Penn tells her they defeated him. He then asks her to tell the mission, but she is kidnapped by a pteranodon ridden by Rippen. Rippen tells the boys they can't win the mission if they don't what is it as Sashi calls Penn for help, being given a hat by Larry, before Rippen flies away with Sashi on the pteranodon's claws. Boone, worried, wonders how they can win the mission if Sashi didn't tell them, which Penn tells him Sheriff Scaley Briggs can help them.

The boys see the sheriff sleeping in a coffin, thinking he is dead, as Penn gives flowers and wishes him to rest in peace before the sheriff's teeth pop out of his mouth and latch onto Penn's face, scaring Boone. The sheriff wakes up as a townsman appears out of a trapdoor, saying how weird it is that the sheriff sleeps in a coffin, before retreating back, which the sheriff says it is the cheapest "bed" he could find and that it helps him with his back, which the townsman appears out of a window and says the sheriff should have his back examined before the sheriff, annoyed, closes the window. The sheriff tells the boys he has work to do before the townsman appears once again on the roof and says the sheriff never goes to work before he gets eaten by his T-Rex. Penn hears the sheriff call them "strangers", so he tells the sheriff they helped him save the town's gold and served as a catalyst for his "unexpected redemption story" and he even points out he has a photo of them in the wall. He tells the sheriff they need his help to save Sashi because she got kidnapped by Rippen's pteranodon, but the sheriff tells them that the town's Cow-o-saurs are getting stolen by bandits riding a pteranodon, which is exactly what Penn said.

Rippen's pteranodon brings Sashi to where the town's Cow-o-saurs are. The pteranodon drops both Sashi and Larry to two piles of hay, with Sashi using her pile to bounce inside the barn. Rippen enters the barn and tells her he is going to steal every Cow-o-saur from Big Butte and that, since Penn and Boone don't know what their mission is, he will win the mission. Larry gives the two an avocado and some angry snakes before Sashi knocks Larry and Rippen as she exits the barn. However, when Sashi is about to escape, she is stopped by Amber with her lasso, so Sashi asks her to untie her as both start pulling the lasso, stating she isn't afraid of hitting a girl, which Amber says neither is she. The girls start fighting each other, with Amber ending up tying Sashi's hands and feet with her lasso.

The boys and the sheriff are riding their dinosaurs as Penn asks the sheriff if he is fine, which he affirms it while casually eating part of his boot. The sheriff tells the boys that he used to have someone who meant too much for him as he eats a cactus, saying it tastes good as it hurts so much.

At the barn, Amber is breaking bottles with her lasso, impressing Sashi. Sashi asks her why is she Rippen's minion, which she tells her she tried to be good, but someone told her she wasn't tough enough. Sashi asks her who told her that, which she gives her some Jerk-O-Saur Jerky candy as both chew the candy, telling her that someone is Sheriff Scaley Briggs, but because they are chewing, they have a hard time pronouncing his name. Amber tells her she doesn't want to talk about him as she instead decides to sing about her backstory to herself in the barn's roof.

Amber sings while playing her guitar about how her father never allowed her to be a deputy, as he though she wasn't tough enough, so she started a life as a bandit. The sheriff then sings about how he misses his daughter, saying about how dangerous being a deputy is for her. The two then start singing at the same time as they look at the moon. After finishing, the sheriff asks the boys if they heard him, seeing them crying, as they stop at a cliff, with the sheriff telling the boys this is as far as he goes as he wipes his tears with a velociraptor. Penn tells him that, when they rescue Sashi, he has to tell Amber how does he feel about her, but he tells him he got nothing to say to her, but he tells him to tell Amber she is always welcome to come home and to clean her room.

At the barn, Rippen and Larry are playing a board game as Amber gets impatient and tells them they only got one Cow-o-saur to rustle. Rippen tells they have a plan as they hear Boone's voice shouting they have a Cow-o-saur, so he and Larry go after him and his Cow-o-saur. Penn descends from the roof as Sashi asks him where is Boone, which he tells her Boone is distracting Rippen and Larry with his Cow-o-saur. Outside the barn, Rippen is about to shoot Boone with a cactus ball, but he is stopped by Sheriff Scaley Briggs, who guides them back to the barn. The sheriff is about to shoot, but he sees Amber, leading to look at each other saddened. Rippen says it is his "winning time" as he takes out their hats, with the sheriff's dropping a photo of him and Amber taken in the past. His hat starts dropping more things, such as Amber's drawing of his T-Rex, the children's book Amber read, her baby teeth and first purse. The sheriff and Amber start hugging ach other, with the sheriff he was overprotective, but that he knew she was always tough. Rippen wears the sheriff's hat as he rushes to the Cow-o-saur to steal it, shooting a cactus at the sheriff's keys to make his T-Rex eat him. He then calls his pteranodon to carry him and the Cow-o-saur away from the heroes, but Amber uses her lasso to grab onto the pteranodon, riding on it and making it drop Rippen and the Cow-o-saur. Amber lands and tickles the T-Rex's belly, making it vomit the sheriff out. Sashi tells Amber that, for a good bad guy, she is not a bad good guy, which Ambers thanks her. The sheriff asks Amber to give him a hug, but she tells him to shower first as she and the heroes go with them closing their noses, ending the episode.
