Amelia Taylor is a relatively nice girl who cares a lot about her friends. She is also one of the few people to show compassion and warmth towards Jin, while also being socially aware of his culture. She initially only saw herself as his friend but eventually falls in love with him and is happy to see that he reciprocates those same feelings. Amelia is overall a supportive and friendly person is willing to stick up for the people she cares about.

In the original graphic novel, Amelia Harris still serves as a potential love interest to Jin and even hangs out with him at one point. Their relationship is not resolved as Greg, a mutual friend, urges Jin to stay away from Amelia, making things awkward between them.
