"Opposites Attack" is the second segment of the eighth episode of the Disney Channel series Chibiverse.
Synopsis[]
When Marcy Wu asks the witch, Helen, for a spell to be less clumsy, Marcy accidentally unleashes a magic potion across the Chibiverse that turns all the Chibis into their total opposites! Now Marcy and Helen must restore order and face off against the Chibiverse’s newest baddie… Molly McMean!
Summary[]
Scientists Gary and #2 analyze the condition of the Chibiverse after #2 leaves the heat on in the lab overnight, resulting in an increase in temperature in the Chibiverse's atmosphere. The chibis beat the heat by gathering at the Chibiverse pool where the Calamity Trio are practicing a synchronized swim routine, but Marcy is reluctant to participate due to her excessive clumsiness, when she encounters Helen who insists she gets out of her sun. Marcy confides in her and asks if she can use her magic to make her less clumsy, and in exchange, she'll hack into Chibiverse Square to show pictures of herself on the neon signs to make her famous, she agrees and gives her an opposite potion, which is guaranteed to make any chibi the opposite of who they are, but when she hands it to Marcy, she immediately drops it, causing it to bounce off of both of them and land in the pool, which releases and affects the chibis already in the pool, which is made worse after King Andrias cannonballs into the pool, causing the potion filled pool water to cover the entire Chibiverse, resulting in every chibi (except for Marcy and Helen due to Helen creating a magic bubble around them) to become the exact opposites of themselves, Helen suggests administering an antidote that she has, but it is stolen by Molly McGee, who's become a villain that goes by Molly McMean due to the effects of the potion, and intends to en-sad-ify the Chibiverse, so Marcy and a reluctant Helen set out to stop her.
Marcy and Helen pursue Molly while observing all of the chibis behaving in ways that are completely contrary to their true natures. Scratch is eating healthy and exercising, Rufus boasts long, luxurious hair, and Cricket Green is acting proper and dressed neatly with shoes. A serious and tough Remy Remington guards a nerdy and paranoid Vasquez, Launchpad McQuack, Scott Denoga, and Barry Buns have become geniuses solving complex mathematical equations, Scrooge McDuck is inexplicably giving away all his money, while Darryl collects it for donations to save the chibi red pandas, Phineas and Ferb are acting like delinquents, vandalizing Chibi Park with graffiti, and Candace does nothing to stop them.
Amid this chaos, Marcy and Helen find Molly shooting sobgoblins that suck the joy out of everything they touch. They also notice Tilly Green and Mabel Pines, who have also transformed into villains, have joined Molly in creating mayhem throughout the Chibiverse. Marcy suggests that since they are dealing with heroic chibis that have become villains, they should recruit villain chibis that have become heroes, she and Helen go to ask Andrias for help, only to find that he, along with Professor Exclamation and Emperor Belos, have become peace lovers that do not engage in violence, so Marcy instead suggests recruiting Launchpad, Scott, and Barry. They devise a plan to retrieve the potion antidote, from Launchpad's plane, Scott uses Mabel's grappling hook to lure the girls out and tie them up with it, then Barry grabs the antidote, puts it into a metal spring and tosses it up to the plane where Marcy catches it using a magnet, so she doesn't drop it, Launchpad then plugs the antidote vial into his plane and uses it to crop dust the Chibiverse, which reverts everyone back to their original personalities (with Darryl changing his donation back into a pyramid scheme as Scrooge demanded his money back; the bad guys go back to being bad; and Molly, Tilly, and Mabel are happy to be good again and clean up the mess they created by retrieving the sobgoblins). Launchpad then drinks the last of the antidote, despite Marcy's suggestion to wait until they land, which causes him to crash into the sun.
Back at the pool, Marcy rejoins her friends and suggests that they leave her out of the routine because she doesn't want to mess it up, but Anne reassures her that her clumsiness is what makes her who she is, and that the routine wouldn't be the same without the three of them being themselves, so Marcy gladly accepts to be a part of the routine. The Calamity trio begin the routine, but while Anne and Sasha do the routine perfectly, Marcy fumbles each part, but nonetheless, they finish the routine while having fun, while Helen admires Chibiverse Square's neon signs, now filled with portraits of her.
