Andor is an upcoming Star Wars series by Lucasfilm. It is set to premiere on Disney+ on August 31, 2022.
Premise
Set five years before the events of Rogue One (2016), the series follows rebel spy Cassian Andor during the formative years of the Rebellion.[2]

Production
Development
In February 2018, Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed that a few Star Wars live-action series were in development for Disney's streaming service. The series was officially announced by Bob Iger during Disney’s Fiscal Full Year and Q4 2018 Earnings Results on November 8, 2018. [11] On November 30, it was reported that executive producer Stephen Schiff was tapped to serve as showrunner while Moana writer Jared Bush was revealed to have originated the project by writing a pilot script and a series bible.[12]
On October 15, 2019, co-writer Tony Gilroy would be writing for the series in addition to directing the shows.[13] On December 3, 2020, Diego Luna confirmed that the series had started filming in London.[14]
On June 4, 2021, Deadline reported that Robert Emms joined the cast of the series in an undisclosed role, also that the series is due to wrap filming this summer.[1]
On June 10, 2021, it was reported that Forest Whitaker and Ben Mendelsohn would be reprising their roles as Saw Gerrera and Orson Krennic in the series.[5][6]
On August 9, 2021, it was reported that Alex Lawther had joined the cast of the series in an undisclosed role.[7]
Filming officially wrapped on September 27.[15]
On February 6, 2022, Stellan Skarsgård revealed that the second season begins filming in the fall of 2022.[16]
On February 16, 2022, it was reported that Nicholas Britell would compose the score for the series.[17]
