Anne Meara was an American actress, voice actress, and comedian, who, for Disney, provided the voice of Winnie the female RV in Planes: Fire & Rescue, alongside her husband, Jerry Stiller, who voiced Harvey the male RV. She also portrayed Alice Bushkin in Heavyweights, alongside her son, Ben Stiller, who played Tony Perkis.

Meara was born on September 20, 1929, in Brooklyn, New York, to parents Mary (née Dempsey) and Edward Joseph Meara, both of Irish descent. An only child, she was raised in Rockville Centre, New York, on Long Island. At age 11, her mother died by suicide. When she was 18, Meara spent a year studying acting at the Dramatic Workshop at The New School and at HB Studio under Uta Hagen in Manhattan. In 1948, she began her career as an actress in summer stock.

In 1953, Meara met actor-comedian Jerry Stiller, and they married in 1954. After some years of acting, Stiller and Meara became regulars on The Ed Sullivan Show, making 36 appearances, as well as other programs, such as The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her other television credits included Kate McShane, Archie Bunker's Place (in which she co-starred with Carroll O'Connor and Martin Balsam), All in the Family, ALF, her self-titled sitcom The Stiller and Meara Show (in which Stiller played the deputy mayor of New York City and Meara portrayed his wife), and The King of Queens.

In October 2010, Meara and Jerry Stiller began starring in a Yahoo! web series called Stiller & Meara produced by Red Hour Digital, a production company owned by their son Ben Stiller.

Meara also starred in various films, such as Fame, Highway to Hell, Reality Bites, Awakenings, Kiss of Death, Zoolander, Like Mike, and Night at the Museum.
