Background

Annie and Fannie Cottontail are the nieces of Molly Cottontail. They made their first comic strip appearance in 1947. They would not have their first original comic book appearance until 1984.

Br'er Weasel could be seen outside a cave where he trapped Molly Cottontail's two nieces, Annie and Fannie Cottontail, until Br'er Sparrow caught Br'er Weasel trapping Annie and Fannie; and warned Br'er Rabbit and Molly about Br'er Weasel's scheme kidnapping the two rabbits and trapping them inside a cave.
