The repercussions of the Aldhani heist reach all the way to Coruscant, while Cassian returns home.
Plot[]
On Coruscant, Karn starts a new job at the Bureau of Standards. As the ISB gains more draconian surveillance and punitive authority, Meero is challenged by Blevin for breaking protocol around accessing data about thefts from Imperial installations. She persuades her superiors of her work's value and is assigned oversight of Ferrix. Rael's assistant Kleya Marki meets with Vel on Coruscant and instructs her to find and kill Cassian to prevent him from revealing Rael's identity. Mon Mothma meets Kolma, an old friend and banker, at a dinner party and asks him to help her access family funds. Cassian returns to Ferrix to settle old debts and learns from Bix that the community blames him for the fallout from the Corporate Security crackdown. The presence of Stormtroopers on Ferrix reminds Cassian of how the original Clem, his adopted father and Maarva's husband, was murdered by Imperial Clonetroopers years ago. Cassian attempts to get Maarva to leave Ferrix with him, but she decides to stay and covertly oppose the increased Imperial presence. Cassian travels alone to the tropical tourist paradise of Niamos. On a trip to a shop, he is confronted by Shoretroopers and a KX Unit, arrested for perceived minor offenses, and sentenced to six years imprisonment.
The Perspex-domed sink in Cassian's Niamos hotel room was modelled after a similar sink in the Lars homestead in Star Wars: A New Hope. The Andor build is one of the few appearances of a refresher, the in-universe name for a toilet, discreetly hidden in the sink and shower unit.
The design brief for B2EMO was a cross between a Rubik's Cube and a tool box, which should also evoke and behave like the Andor's family dog. His charging station was often referred to as a "dog bed" by the crew.
Niamos was shot at the waterfront of Cleveleys, England, just north of the resort town of Blackpool.
An art exhibition space at a defunct boarding school, Carmel College, near Wallingford, England, served as the Niamos courthouse interior set.
Graphic designer Elle McKee came up with the idea of using Ralph McQuarrie production paintings for the Perspex postcards sold at the tourist shop on Niamos.
Visible in Luthen's gallery in this episode are such artefacts as a Kel Dor breather mask, a Jedi Temple Guard mask, and a Gungan shield.
As Kleya makes her way from the transit station, some stormtrooper chatter calls out "LUH 341", which is a reference to LUH 3417, Maggie McOmie's character George Lucas' first feature film THX 1138.
