The Antique Boy Figure is a main character featured in the 1934 Silly Symphony short The China Shop.

Background[]

Personality[]

The Boy Figure is shown to be attractive to the Girl Figure, treating her as his love interest. All the other objects inside the antiques shop became impressed of his dance with her. In spite of this, he is also shown to be fearful when the Satyr arrives and locks her, often facing him in a courageous manner in protecting her.

Role in the short[]

After being placed in the shop, the Boy Figure and the rest of the other products inside the shop come to life. The Boy Figure opens a passage for the Girl Figure where he and his interest dance on a table, impressing a large group of items who are impressed by the waltz the two are doing. However, the Satyr sees the couple dancing, knocking the Boy Figure out of his way and caging the Girl Figure. The Satyr attacks the Boy Figure by repelling him and then throwing various objects at him, which he defends himself using a lid as a shield to defend himself from the Satyr. He later kicks the Satyr, causing him to cough up the key, which launches onto the cabinet where the Girl Figure was locked, which he was able to rescue her after he threw the Satyr onto another area where the Clock woke up just before the Clock smashes the Satyr into pieces. Later, the shopkeeper places the male and female figures onto the spot where he last placed them, labeling them as rare antiques, just as the Boy Figure and Girl Figure happily stare at each other, happy to see each other back together.

Trivia[]
