"Appreciate the Lady" is a song featured in the 1981 film The Fox and the Hound. It was written by Jim Stafford and sung by Pearl Bailey. It is about how Tod wanted to impress Vixey, but did it wrong because he can't really catch fish. It is a romantic song as we see them draw closer to one another.

This song appears on Volume One of Disney's Greatest Lullabies, but is mistakenly listed as "Best of Friends".

Lyrics[]

When you have a natural attraction
You deserve a mutual reaction
You're gonna get a whole lot
Of satisfaction
Here's all you gotta do

When you feel that natural affection
Lead you in a positive direction
You gotta stop showing off
Start showing up
With little natural you

Yes, you gotta appreciate the lady
And, now, that is a natural fact
'Cause when you be yourself
With a lady act
You're gonna be appreciated right back
