History[]
Before the First Curse[]
Years before the first curse, on the night of the coranation of King Harald, two of his daughters try to convince their sister Ingrid to join them, but she is afraid of what her magic might do so decides to stay in her room, although she soon decides to come and watch from the distance. The Duke of Weslton takes this party as an attempt to impress the princesses, although it does not seem to work. After the party, the sisters find Ingrid packing up, as she believes she is not fit to be a queen so passes the title onto Helga as Ingrid thinks she would make a much better fit for the title. Her sisters console her and promise never to turn their backs on Ingrid and support her.
At some point following this, the Duke of Weslton visits the castle and is revealed to soon be wed to Helga, but he visits Ingrid and tries to make a pass at her, but blames it on her when Helga asks what is happening. out of panic, Ingrid uses magic on the Duke and blasts him away, which causes him to become fearful of her and tells Helga about her sister's dark magic. Helga soon believes the Duke and starts fearing Ingrid, labelling her as a monster. Ingrid tries to come through to her sister and explain everything, but accidentally turns her into ice, which kills her. Gerda witnesses what Ingrid has done and refers to her sister as a monster. Fearing for the kingdom's safety, Gerda traps Ingrid in an urn for many years.
Following this travisty, Gerda does not mention her sisters to Anna and Elsa, her daughters. Gerda and the king soon die at sea, leaving Elsa, who also has ice powers, isolated from Anna and the rest of the kingdom. Anna then spends years walking around the castle, but is ignored by Elsa, who doesn't want to hurt anyone with her magic. Five years after her parents' deaths, Elsa becomes queen of Arendelle and surprises Anna, who is about to get married to Kristoff, with their mother's wedding dress. However, Elsa finds Gerda's notebook and learns their parents' feared Elsa because of her magic, which leads Elsa to blame herself for their deaths. Anna tries to convince Elsa that it can't be true and sets sail to Misthaven to find answers.
After Anna leaves for the Enchanted Forest, Elsa worries about her sister's well-being and sends scouts to look for her. She even thinks about going after Anna, but Kristoff convinces her that Arendelle needs their Queen. To her distress, a General comes in and reports that Prince Hans - Anna's ex-fiance' - and his twelve brothers are amassing an army in the Southern Mountains to attack Arendelle. Kristoff offers to sneak up there and eavesdrop on the princes' plans, but Elsa wants to handle the situation herself. Wishing to avoid war, she begins brainstorming plans when Kristoff returns, after disobeying her prior orders, and informs them of Hans' scheme to use an urn, capable of trapping magic users, to imprison Elsa. Kristoff suggests he, accompanied by a few soldiers, will destroy the urn. Elsa decides she should come with him, and together they venture into the North Valley where the urn is in a cave. Prince Hans opens the urn, intending to trap Elsa, but instead releases Elsa s aunt, Ingrid, from captivity. Ingrid heads back to the castle with Elsa and Kristoff. Arriving at the castle, Elsa and Ingrid chat about their ice powers and about their ability to create an ice palace or a snowman.
Ingrid is shown a portrait of the late king and queen and reveals to Elsa that she is her aunt, which shocks Elsa as Gerda never mentioned having a sister to her or Anna. Ingrid promises to help Elsa control her magic. Two weeks later, Anna returns to Kristoff and Sven, but reveals she didn't learn anything about her and Elsa's parents. Upon reuniting with Elsa at the castle, Anna learns her sister has begun to be able to control her magic and meets Ingrid, who reveals her relation to the princess' mother.
However, Anna becomes suspicious of Ingrid and works with Elsa and Kristoff to find the urn to trap her in, while also trying to stop Hans' brothers from taking over Arendelle. While searching, Anna finds Hans in a frozen state and the urn beside him. However, Ingrid uses her magic to turn Anna against Elsa and trap her in said urn, while Hans defrosts around this time and is reunited with his brothers in an attempt to over rule the kingdom. While under Ingrid's magic, Anna traps Elsa in the urn for years, before the spell wears off. Shortly after Anna reverts to normal, Ingrid instigates her until Kristoff intervenes. Embracing herself as a monster, Ingrid freezes Anna, Kristoff as well as all of Arendelle in ice for thirty years, and then erases Elsa's memories.
After the Second Curse[]
After being frozen for 30 years, the castle and the rest of Arendelle unfreeze. A defrosted Anna and Kristoff learn that Hans is now ruling the kingdom and plans to banish them from the kingdom. Anna and Kristoff fight their way out of imprisonment and the castle is soon teleported to the docs, where Hans plans on killing the couple. However, they soon find themselves at the seaside of Storybrooke, where Anna and Elsa are reunited after 3 decades. With the queen and princess gone, Hans successfully becomes the ruler of Arendelle.
After getting help from Emma Swan and the citizens of Storybrooke, Anna, Kristoff and Elsa are able to find a portal to Arendelle and return home. Once they get there, Hans is dethroned and Elsa reclaims her crown. Anna fights Hans and he is sent to prison, while Anna and Kristoff are able to finally have their wedding. Elsa asks Anna as to why she postponed the wedding, to which she tells her that she couldn't feel happy walking down the isle if her sister wasn't happy either. With reassurance from Anna, Elsa walks her down the aisle to Kristoff and they get married.
During and After the Fourth Curse[]
When the Black Fairy casts her curse, Emma Swan does not believe in fairytales, although her son Henry tries to convince her otherwise and that she married her true love Captain Hook, although she doesn't believe him. Since Emma has lost belief, the realms including Arendelle start to disappear, although Henry is eventually able to get through to Emma, which restores hope and the realms.
Now with the curse destroyed, the castle and the whole of Arendelle is reformed after Emma wins the final battle.
After the Sixth Curse[]
After being elected the Good Queen Regina Mills decides to allow all the realms to be linked so everyone can be near each other without having to use magic. With the curse, Arendelle is moved to the Storybrooke marketplace.
