"Astro-Cavers" is the second segment of the thirty-second episode of Miles from Tomorrowland. It premiered on June 27, 2016 alongside "The Blobbysitters", and is the second segment of the second episode in the second season.
Plot[]
In the activity room, Loretta is practicing for the upcoming astro-caving trip the proper way: getting around with no gravity, and she sticks the landing. Meanwhile, Miles and the other Cosmic Explorers, Blodger and Haruna, are putting their blast-jets in silent mode. They, along with M.E.R.C., get to the ceiling and try to keep quiet. Miles uses his blastbuckle tether to take Loretta's apple away. Loretta tells him that instead of swiping fruit, they should be practicing for their astro-caving trip. Miles thinks that the Cosmic Explorers are pros, and Captain Joe will be surprised at how great they are. However, Blodger's blast-jet breaks free, and the others go for it. Loretta tells Miles that he shouldn't be surprised if there's a little more to astro-caving than the pros think. Phoebe then informs everyone that they've arrived at the Olivine Asteroid, and Joe will be there shortly. The Cosmic Explorers all head out of the activity room.
Once they're in the hangar, they tell Captain Joe that they're ready for astro-caving. However, Joe tells them to leave any and all propulsion devices on the floor, meaning no blastbuckles, blastboards, or blast-jets allowed, and M.E.R.C. can't use his wing boosters. This is because using propulsion devices would make astro-caving way too easy. Leo has the feeling that Cosmic Explorers never got around to growing up on the sport. Phoebe tells them that astro-caving is about getting through the asteroid without the help of tools. Joe also says that patience and a little sweat is all they have in life sometimes. The Cosmic Explorers then ditch their propulsion devices, and that includes Miles' Lazerang. Miles thinks that the Cosmic Explorers should have remembered cosmic explorer rule #53. Blodger thinks it is to never tell your secrets to a marsh frog, but Miles says that that is rule #54, and rule #53 is to be ready to try new things, and Miles says that they aren't ready. Joe tells them that they will get the hang of it as they go, but if not, it will be fun to watch for Joe and Loretta. Leo and Phoebe will hang around until the Cosmic Explorers are done, and they will pick them up at the exit tunnel. Joe and Loretta make it to the asteroid's entrance, and the Cosmic Explorers follow suit. Miles tells Blodger and Haruna that they can do astro-caving without propulsion devices before following.
Once at the entrance, the Cosmic Explorers begin to make their way through the asteroid. Joe realizes that they're drifting because of the asteroid's gravity pulling them towards its center. They grab hold of something to stop the motion. Joe tells them to push off lightly and aim for the tunnel up ahead. If they keep it slow, they will be fine. Joe and Loretta do so, but Miles, Blodger, Haruna, and M.E.R.C. decide to have a race there. As a result, they bounce out of control, and once they stop, Miles assumes that they shouldn't race until they had a little more practice. Miles tells Blodger and Haruna that they need to show Joe how well they can handle the next part, and Blodger doesn't want to stink.
Eventually, the Cosmic Explorers go through the asteroid with no collisions until Joe tells them to turn their lights off. They've made it to the center of the asteroid, and the mineral there is called Olivine. Loretta says that this is why the asteroid is called the Olivine Asteroid, and loves astro-caving. Miles, M.E.R.C., Blodger, and Haruna are holding hands to prevent bouncing around too much, but Miles wishes that they had their blast-jets.
The Cosmic Explorers are at the center of the asteroid, so they're no longer drifting, and Joe says that it's the perfect place to rest for a few minutes. However, Blodger gets hit by a rock, and decides to go practice some more. Miles says that it is his fault. Since he thought the Cosmic Explorers wouldn't need their blast-jets on the trip, he told them that they didn't need to practice. However, Joe is not disappointed in Miles, as he found out that not everything comes easy, and that is an important thing to remember. Joe tells Miles to get Blodger, but Miles crashes into a wall, and says "Aw, craters!", which is what Blodger also said, but in a different way.
Meanwhile, Phoebe and Leo see from the Stellosphere's observatory that a stray asteroid causing a chain reaction is about to hit the Olivine Asteroid. Phoebe tells the Cosmic Explorers to brace themselves for a collision before the signal cuts off. The Olivine Asteroid gets hit, and all of the Cosmic Explorers, except Miles and Blodger, are trapped in the center, as the rocks blocked the exits and one forced Blodger and Miles out of the center. Leo and Phoebe decide to turn out every rock in the ring until they find the Olivine Asteroid. Miles barely makes contact with Joe, who tells them that he, M.E.R.C., Loretta, and Haruna are trapped in the center. Joe tells Miles and Blodger that once they're out of the asteroid, Miles should call his parents and have them bring Flash Beams to bring them out. Miles and Blodger says that they're on it like a comet, but Blodger says otherwise. Miles tells him that they got through half an asteroid, and assumes that they're good at bouncing around like ping pong balls. He assumes that they've learned enough to go all the way through the tunnel with one hard push.
However, Miles and Blodger bounce out of control, and they assume that they're still beginners. However, once they take it steady, they go through easily. They don't collide into the walls, and eventually, they make it out of the asteroid with a perfect landing. However, Miles sees that the asteroid is not where it used to be, and is unable to contact his parents. So, Miles launches his emergency flare so that they see where he and Blodger are. The plan works, and Miles and Blodger return to the Stellosphere. Miles tells Leo and Phoebe that everyone else is trapped, and they need four Flash Beams to free them.
In the asteroid, Miles tells Joe that he may want to take cover. Miles, Blodger, Leo, and Phoebe fire their Flash Beams to break through a rock to free the Cosmic Explorers. Miles is delighted to see M.E.R.C. again. Joe congratulates Miles and Blodger for going through the remainder of the asteroid, and that it took patience and a little sweat. Even though Blodger didn't sweat, Miles did enough sweating for the both of them.

Trivia[]
- This is the second and final time Blodger has the cosmic explorer rules mixed up after "Skyrise".
- This episode marks the second and final time someone launches an emergency flare. The first was Loretta, when she did so when she was trapped on an iceberg near a river in Planet Thurio in "Journey to the Frozen Planet".
- Morals:
- Always be prepared for the unexpected.
- Slow and steady does the trick.
