"Atlantica Day" is the first segment of the first episode of Ariel. It premiered on June 27, 2024 alongside "A Winner's Spirit".
Plot[]
Ariel then shows Lucia and Fernie a fork she got, which she calls a dinglehopper. Ariel states that humans use them to write and draw. She then shows what she wrote on a seashell with it when Flounder comes, reminding everyone about their music class. Once Ariel, Lucia, and Fernie arrive, Ariel shows what she got. Sebastian, the teacher of the class, is freaking out while stating that tomorrow is Atlantica Day. Ariel calms him down, and Sebastian mentions the holiday again. Everyone loves it, but King Triton has asked Sebastian to sing a special song at tomorrow's celebration, and the song must be about the one most special thing about living in Atlantica. Sebastian can't figure it out, but Ariel decides to come up with a song for him. The others decide to help.
They then have to figure out the special thing about living in Atlantica. Fernie has an idea about the amazing sea creatures. Lucia, on the other hand, states that there's magic in the water. She then turns Flounder purple by accident, but she turns back to normal and states that another thing special about Atlantica is the yummy food. Ariel likes it, and understands why Sebastian didn't know what to choose. Ariel, Lucia, and Fernie then see Ursula to help then decide.
Once there, Ursula makes her entrance in style and is told by Ariel what the one special thing about living in Atlantica is. So, Ursula calls Ebb and Flow to help make amazing fried plantains for her. Ariel was hoping it would be a music potion that helps one write amazing songs. Ursula tells Ariel to see Ravi the octopus at the juice stand, as he knows a lot about Atlantica. While serving Ariel, Lucia, Fernie, and Flounder juice, Ravi notices what they are trying to do. He states that whenever he has a problem, he asks his fellow Atlanticans in the market. He does so, and the others share their ideas for Ariel to write. She then gets more shells when she bumps into Sebastian and tells him she's working on it but will never give up.
Ariel is still deciding on what to write for the song. The next morning, she tells Lucia and Fernie that she still doesn't know what the song should be about. She states that every idea about what makes Atlantica special is different. King Triton then arrives, having overheard everything by Sebastian, and is proud of Ariel, who wonders what will happen if the others find out she doesn't have an Atlantica Day song. It is then time for the performance, and Ariel decides not to perform. Sebastian tells her that he couldn't figure out what to sing about, as well. After he mentions the different voices, he decides to let everyone know there won't be a song today. Ariel then interrupts and tells Sebastian that the song should be about everyone being different in Atlantica, and they all have different things they like, all living together in one colorful ocean, which is the most special thing about Atlantica. Ariel then performs the song, followed by the others, and everyone applauds the performance.
