Awesome Planet is a film attraction for The Land pavilion at Epcot's Future World (to be renamed World Nature).
Narrated by Ty Burrell and featuring a score by Steven Price, Awesome Planet blends nature photography with in-theater effects and digital space sequences created by Industrial Light and Magic.[1]
Summary[]
Narrated in the style of a real estate agent selling a home, Awesome Planet begins with a look at the fiery birth of the planet before exploring the different "neighborhoods" of biomes such as the oceans, deserts, icy tundras, grasslands and forests. After this tour, the narrator brings up that the Earth has a "Lifetime Maintenance Plan" and discusses the interweaving systems that drive Earth's weather and ecosystems and the impact of humanity's actions upon them. Showing the impacts of climate change and environmental devastation, the narrator makes a call to action and shows various methods to combat these issues through sustainable practices, ending on an optimistic tone that we can help preserve our planet as long as we work together.
Trivia[]
