"B-Movie" is the seventh episode of Pixar's Cars on the Road. It premiered on September 8, 2022 on Disney+.
Synopsis[]
Lightning McQueen and Mater stumble onto a movie set and are cast in a zombie sci-fi film.
Plot[]
McQueen and Mater end up in Rustville and discover that they are filming a new sci-fi film there with famed director Bella Cadavre in the lead. One of the assistants spots McQueen and insists that he be hired as the assistant deputy after being unimpressed with the previous actor. McQueen's acting and line delivery is imperfect, but when Mater tries to cheer him up, Bella offers that he be hired for a bit part too. Mater ends up being very funny and Bella decides to give him the role of a scientist and later the president.
McQueen is upset that he is bad at acting while Mater is taking to it, but Mater informs him that he is good at a lot of things and should not be concerned about it. The next day, McQueen apologizes and he and Mater decide to continue the film, only to learn that it has been completely shutdown for being a train wreck and is now going to be a high end musical film. The two of them are briefly reunited with Ivy who had been discovered at the circus and is being given her big break as the star of the film.
As they leave Rustville behind them, McQueen asks Mater what his presidential speech was going to be like, as Bella wanted him to write it himself. Mater delivers his speech which turns out to be much better than McQueen expected.

Trivia[]
- The episode's title is a play on a type of low-budget commercial motion picture which is usually of low quality.
- McQueen's police color is similar to that of one Mater's short stories.
- One of the props for the film resembles the mothership seen in the Cars Toons episode "Unidentified Flying Mater".
- The movie theater that McQueen and Mater pass by at the beginning of the episode has a sign that reads "Radiators of the Lost Spark". This is an obvious parody of Raiders of the Lost Ark.
- The Ark of the Covenant from the film can also be seen among a shelf of props when Lightning and Mater drive into the studio to find the theme of the movie has changed to a musical.
- Other props spotted in this episode include Todd the Pizza Planet Truck, the palm tree leaves that Mater had when he tried to warn McQueen of the lemon cars' plan to kill him in Cars 2, and a pink cowgirl hat similar to the ones Mia and Tia wore in "Monster Truck Mater".
- Unlike previous Cars productions, however, the Pizza Planet truck does not appear to be sentient like the other cars.
