"Baby Dragon" is the first segment of the twenty-ninth episode of Vampirina. It premiered on February 22, 2019 alongside "Gloommates", and is the first segment of the fourth episode in the second season.
Plot[]
Puffers visits the Hauntleys while Demi is playing a tower game with Vampirina and Nanpire, who loves that Oxana and Boris asked her to come over and babysit while they're away on their couples' retreat. She always loves spending time with Vampirina, Demi, and Gregoria. Grandpop is the only family Nanpire has left in Transylvania. It gets lonely for her without Vampirina, Demi and Gregoria. Gregoria is reading a book to take a vacation from everyone. Demi decides to join, but Gregoria wants two days to himself, meaning no noise and no guests.
Puffers then comes and knocks over the playset. Nanpire is excited to see her, and Vampirina sees it as the baby dragon that hatched previously. Vampirina recaps that she was babysitting a dragon egg for the critternarian Dr. Paquette when she hatched. The dragon came back because she missed Vampirina and Gregoria, who she hugs. Dr. Paquette then arrives and apologizes for the disturbance. He has so many creatures to look for, and realizes why Puffers came back: she thinks Gregoria is her mama. Dr. Paquette mentions that the dragon has no mama; he found her egg outside Spookleton Castle and was unable to find a home for her. Although Pennsylvania is no place to babysit a dragon, Vampirina decides for Puffers to stay for the weekend to visit. Vampirina wonders how hard it can be, as the dragon will stay for only two days.
So far, the dragon is playing with Gregoria, bothering her. Gregoria mentions that Puffers is "dragon" her down and to never let down one's guard, although she looks cute. Gregoria wanted to be alone, and the dragon won't leave her down. All the dragon wants is to spend time with Gregoria, who tells everyone to get her to go to sleep. Vampirina decides to tire the dragon out with some games. However, the dragon is not tired at all. Demi and Vampirina fly Gregoria around the house with the dragon giving chase, but the dragon has more energy now. Vampirina decides to play catch with Wolfie, and Demi recites a spell to make a ball roll on its own so that the dragon chases it. Gregoria then goes to sleep.
She then wakes up all refreshed only to see Puffers still chasing the ball. Vampirina states that the dragon forgot about Gregoria. Now, Gregoria can have the rest of the weekend to herself, and she likes it. Gregoria is having a snack when the dragon is still chasing the ball. Later, Gregoria tries to watch something to no avail and eventually struggles to sleep. She tells Vampirina everything, like she wants Puffers to steal her food and singe her tail and burn the remote and sharpen her claws on her wings. Vampirina tells Gregoria that she missed Puffers. Gregoria then decides to spend the weekend with Puffers before searching for her.
Vampirina tells everyone about an emergency regarding Gregoria, who reunites with Puffers with Dr. Paquette due back any minute. Nanpire knows the feeling and wishes she could take everyone back to Transylvania. There is a way she can take one of us: Gregoria gives Puffers a ride on the Gregoria Express, and she tells her that although she is not her real mama, Gregoria will be Puffer's pretend mama any day. Vampirina arrives and questions Puffers staying in the family, since Puffers means home and Nanpire needs some company. Nanpire then decides to adopt Puffers so Gregoria can visit her whenever she wants. Gregoria states that although Nanpire doesn't give as good of gargoyle rides, between them, her cooking is way better. Puffers then tastes some of Nanpire's world-famous boo-lognese sauce.
Later, Nanpire is ready to leave with Puffers. Gregoria then says goodbye, and Vampirina says that by that, it means "see you soon". The ball runs loose, and Demi chases after it.
